Iwobi consoles Arsenal's U-19
Arsenal's Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi has sympthaized with the Gunners Under-19 side who were sent crashing out of the UEFA Youth League play-offs after being beaten by a clinical Anderlecht in Brussels.
Iwobi has made four appearances for the Gunners this term in the EPL however urged the Gunners Under-19 side not to dwell much on the defeat but to look forward to the next game.
"Unfortunate not to get through against Anderlecht, gotta pick our heads up and move onto the next match," he tweeted.
Jorn Vancamp opened the scoring for the Belgian side after just eight minutes before netting his second just before the half-hour mark at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.
The Gunners put out a strong side including Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Krystian Bielik and Dan Crowley and started the game strongly.
Reine-Adelaide and Crowley both had good early chances for the away side but they soon found themselves behind.
Varncamp, who caused the Gunners problems all night, found space at the back post and climbed highest to head past Hugo Keto from a deep cross.
The young keeper was then called into action to brilliantly deny Dodi Lukebakio from the edge of the box as Anderlecht began to turn the screw.
