Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has handed Osaze Odemwingie a 12
game ultimatum to earn himself a deal at the club.
The Nigerian international is out of contract in the summer
and the club has given no indication of any fresh deal after so little game
time this season.
"What have we got left, 12 games," said Hughes,
"so there's a big opportunity there for anyone who wants to grasp it.
"It's certainly within everyone's interests to play
well between now and the end of the season.
"And then there are decisions I have to make regarding
certain players."
Odemwingie 34, signed a one-year deal last summer following
his long injury lay off, was more than two months in the stands before
returning in mid January for three sub appearances and one start in the FA Cup
tie at Palace.
Meanwhile, Hughes plans to take Odemwingie and others away for warm
weather training in Dubai next week after extolling the virtues of such trips
during his first two seasons at Stoke.
A getaway could come at an opportune time and allow Hughes
to draw a line in the sand after recent hiccups.
